Third Sunday Trail-21st August 2011-Sakalavara

When I got a call at 5.00 am on Sunday from Mukesh Choudhry, to enquire if the trail is really happening as it was raining heavy the previous night, I hadn't expected more than around ten people braving the the cloudy day to attend the trail. So it was nice to see nearly sixty very young, young  and young at heart oldies assembled at the meeting point.
The weather and the place was good for a nice morning walk rather than birding. That was what many of us felt when we started the trail.
Couple of us very happy when we spotted a pair of small minivets high up on a tree. This Yellow-billed Babbler was the first bird I could manage to get a horrible shot of on that cloudy Sunday morning.
This paddy field pipit gave nice pose for many of us

Star attraction of the day was of course this Shieldtail...

Overall, it was a good birding day, with many of our friends joining us for the breakfast..
